My first trip to Montello Nevada

When the family, go to Montello, Nevada and leave me behind, I get very upset with Mum and will not meow at her for a while when they get home, so they decided to take me this time.

It is about a 3hr or so car/truck ride, but I was so good, I went for a buggy ride, I was on the harness and explored the camper, I had a great time.

Sierra, was found May 17th 2006, in a stack of tires, in our backyard, meowing her little heart out.

She was barely just over a week old, so Mum and family bottle fed her and looked after all her needs.

We celebrate her birthday 10th May.

He had suffered from upper resp, but had recovered due to antibodics.

He was finally starting to like human attention, when his young life was cut short by a vehichle.

Angel VSquillion Rudy arrived today, Rudy was one of our members in our Feral colony family.

He was born July 2006, and he went to the bridge April 11th 2009. He was a beautiful timid boy who touched my Mum's heart, she misses him very much.

Rudy would come inside and go outside, he loved to be petted but was very skittish around humans and other felines.

Dear God please send me somebody who'll care!

I'm tired of running, I'm sick with despair.

My body is aching, it's so racked with pain.

And Dear God I pray as I run in the rain,

"That someone will love me and give me a home."

A warm cozy bed that I can call my own

my last owner neglected me and chased me away

To rummage in garbage and live as a stray.

But now God I'm tired and hungry and cold.

While I run in the streets just looking for bones!

Training Your Human

Training your human is a thankless task.

"Why bother with it?", some kittens may ask.

The fate of the world is the issue at hand,

as felines worldwide stake a claim for their land.

Make no bones about it, we cats own the joint.

We spray in the corners to drive home the point.

Some say the meek shall inherit the Earth,

But they've no fangs or claws, for what that's worth.

The cat is the ultimate species, you see,

We're poised to usurp man's authority.

These silly old humans who cannot play nice!

We cats are peaceful, we hate only mice.

Just what does training your human entail?

A host of fun things you must do without fail:

The sofas and rugs need a little makeover.

The La-Z-Boy's target for kitty takeover.

Then sleep on clean towels placed in the guest bath.

And make their best clothing a target of wrath.

Tear down those new drapes with a quick forceful tug.

Then tatter the pile of the new Berber rug.

And when they are sleeping, you block off their nose,

paw at their lower lip, chew on their toes.

Strut on the mantle. If they give any flack,

knock down their trophies and all bric-a-brac.

Shed on mom's new velvet black evening gown,

as she's headed out for a night on the town.

If they leave you home all alone for the night,

(Any human doing this can't be all that bright),

They're telling you by leaving, it's perfectly all right,

To totally redecorate 'til dawn's early light.

Knock over tables and chew up the fern.

Hurry, go faster! Soon, they'll return...

When they try to punish, you mustn't show concern.

(All attempts of discipline a pussycat should spurn.)

A snide flick of tail will convey no remorse,

but they will try harder to scold you, of course!

So, hide in the closet until they forget,

and then launch out just like an F-14 jet.

Tear up their ankle, their forearm, their hand,

then when they've had all the pain they can stand,

dart from the room while they call 9-1-1,

and celebrate victory: The felines have won!

To humans, however, the battle's begun,

as they steep in their anger and wish for a gun.

Pathetic and lumbering and clumsy to boot,

My friend, human dominance is really a hoot.

Take charge in your home. It's destiny, meow.

So sleep for an hour, and then grab some chow,

And then train your human, beginning right now.

A Little about me

My name Is Delilah, I have appointed myself Protector of my feline friends in need. I will tell you a little of my story. My soon to be human Dad, Augie, was mowing the lawn, May 1st 2006, he heard pitiful little meows coming from a truck in the backyard. He Investigated further to find myself and my litter mates behind the seat. Our Kitty Mum had placed us there in safety not knowing the window would be closed by a unsuspecting human who had no idea of our existence. Our poor Mum, tried in vain to get to us, that was evident by the paw marks on the windscreen. Our little sister Mary, did not make it, when our soon to be human Dad found us, poor Mary was already at the rainbow bridge. Michele, our human Mum to be, who had no experience with Feral cats, thought as we were so young that we must only be about 10 days old. She thought it would be best if to try to get our Mum to come and get us. So she put us in the truck bed, and waited.A cat did come along and took ME, later my human family found out this was my Dad. Soon he was to be aptly named Big Daddy. Anyway, our Mum did not come back, it was getting dark and chilly, So Mum Michele took my siblings inside, the lucky ones.She put them in a basket, with a heated water bottle, a lamp and tried to feed them watered down cows milk with a syringe. The next morning, Mum sent out Natasha, her daughter, to see if she could find me. Luckily she did, I was hungry, frightened and cold. My Dad tried to help me but he was not able to feed me.They found me crying and alone, brought me inside gave me some milk and put me in the basket with the rest of my litter.Mum then went online to learn how to look after newborn kittens, she had bred kittens in Australia so she had some experience, but none with ferals.Off to petsmart to buy bottles and kitten formula, which we loved.My brother Duncan only survived for 3 days, we were all saddened.
17 Days after my human family found us, once again Dad (Augie) was in the yard and he heard a robust meow but he couldn't locate the kitten. For 45 minutes or so my human family searched.Finally, Tanisha, found the kitten, buried in a tire(tyre) stack that was 5 feet tall.Sierra became our new sister, she was about 5 days old.Tzapporah and Emmy clawed and climbed and scratched our new human family for the bottles of kitten formula. I on the other hand was more restrained.The humans feed us kept us warm looked after our potty needs and loved us and treated us like we were there newborn babies.Soon we were on solids and playing with all our new toys.Yes we have so many toys, some people think we are spoilt!!!

We are spayed/neutered have our rabies, FVRCP, and Leukemia shots each year and we are microchipped as well.We have a cat flap that allows us to go outside during the day, but the family locks us in at night, they tell us its for our own protection. Grrrrrr!
There is a big room that is insulated with roof and another cat flap, with cat beds and toys and food, for my outside friends. Another cat flap within the room takes us to a cat playhouse where we can sit in the sun, eat, play or, my personal favourite, birdwatching.My yard is full of feral villas, feeding stations, heated water bowls (for Winter), and toys, and of course, lots of other felines. Mum has done TNR on 50 cats so far, Mum has feral cat permit, with salt Lake City Animal Control, which she renews each year, she has come a long way since that afternoon in 2006.There so many stories to tell, each different but each in its own way the same.
